TDFF #7: a tough day on the Tourmalet

It was a very demanding day, very high pace and in the finale the riders raced shrouded in fog.

The Queen Stage of the Tour de France Femmes with the finish line at the top of the Tourmalet was won by Demi Vollering (SD Worx), who also took the Yellow Jersey.

It was a very demanding day, very high pace and in the finale the riders raced shrouded in fog. The best of our team were Erica Magnaldi and Silvia Persico who finished in the top 20.

On the first climb, the Col d'Aspin, immediately great forcing of the most anticipated riders of the day. Persico, Magnaldi and even Eleonora Gasparrini remained in the group of the best, gritting her teeth while she could. Then in the toughest part of the climb, Erica and Silvia also lost contact with the best.

The Tourmalet then defined the final gaps. In the end at the finish Magnaldi finished 15th and Persico 18th.

Erica is one step away from the top 10 in GC. Tomorrow the final effort with the ITT in Pau (22.6km).
