Anastasia Carbonari promoted to the WorldTour team and will wear the UAE Team ADQ jersey from the 2024 season. Brought up last year in the UAE Development Team, the national champion from Latvia is the athlete chosen to complete the senior line-up.

Twenty-four years old, born and raised in Italy, she has dual nationality and for cycling has chosen to wear the colours of her mother's country, Latvia, of which she has also been National Road Champion for the past two years. It was precisely the success at the National Championships, along with the TTT at the Trofeo Ponente in Rosa, that Anastasia achieved her two victories this year.

In the course of 2023 she showed herself with several other results, for example finishing second at the Umag Trophy Ladies in Croatia, and demonstrated great team spirit by often breaking away and working for her teammates. These characteristics were also valuable when she had the opportunity to take part in some races with UAE Team ADQ in 2023.

This way of interpreting races and the maturity she showed this year allowed her to complete the process and move from the Development team to the WorldTour team.

Anastasia Carbonari said: “When I received the news it was a great emotion. Racing in a WorldTour team has been my dream since I was a little girl and now that this dream has come true, with this team that is one of the strongest in the world, it repays me for all the sacrifices I have made in recent years, both on my own part, but also on behalf of my family, which has always supported me and helped me even on long trips. This is an incredible week because in addition to this wonderful news I also got the official announcement from my national team to participate in the next Olympics in Paris 2024. Last year was a complicated year. I came from a serious injury in 2022 and it was not easy to recover and then sometimes the performances were not what I expected and I also had some illnesses. Now I’m thinking about this new year, I'm already looking forward to the first training camp, learning from past mistakes and improving step by step with the support of this magnificent team that gives even more than 100% to enable us to perform at our best. Then I will have great teammates at my side from whom I will learn a lot and this is one of the most important things for me. Joining this team for me means learning, observing and gaining a lot of experience to grow and prove my worth, and so I thank the team for the chance it has given me”.
