We welcome young Polish rider Dominika Włodarczyk

September 11, 2023

UAE Team ADQ's third addition for the 2024 season is young Polish rider Dominika Włodarczyk.

UAE Team ADQ's third addition for the 2024 season is young Polish rider Dominika Włodarczyk.

Hailing from the Continental team MAT Atom Deweloper Wrocław, 22 year old Dominika has this year achieved 3 stage wins and several rankings in races in Eastern Europe, in total in her career she boasts a haul of 9 successes including the GC of the Watersley Womens Challenge in 2022.

Dominika Włodarczyk is a talent to develop and UAE Team ADQ has decided to bet on her for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. "Since I started believing I could become a professional cyclist I have looked several World Tour teams. UAE Team ADQ caught my attention because of its good organization, both in and out of the race, the conditions they create for the riders and the team values. I am more than happy to be part of this team for the next two seasons. I hope the team will help me continue to grow, both as a rider and as a person. I think this is a very important step in my career, because I know that to fight with the best you have to race and train with them, and the move to UAE Team ADQ will allow me to do this," Dominika said.

The Polish athlete added: “With the new team I would like to gain experience in high-level races that I haven’t had the opportunity to compete in so far. I like the classics race, which are hard and interesting, the kind where a lot happens. I think my strength is also sprinting from a small group. In the future, I would like to improve my skills in time trials and improve my riding on more challenging terrain, hone my downhill skills, learn to believe in myself more and turn my weaknesses into strengths”.

Dominika is originally from a small village in Poland, Okalew, but now lives in the city of Wrocław, where she studies constructions at the University of Science and Technology. As a child she started playing sport with football, then switched to cycling, but as she tells us, it was not love at first sight: “Unlike other girls, I didn't start winning races straight away, quite the opposite, I could count the races I finished in my first year of competition on the fingers of one hand. The reason was that I was very small physically and struggled to reach the brakes. As I grew up things improved. To this day I still don't understand how I was able to endure that period, but now I know it was worth it”.

From next year, Dominika Włodarczyk's cycling dreams and her desire to improve will be fuelled by UAE Team ADQ.
