It's time for the first Grand Tour of the season for UAE Team ADQ, which will be competing in La Vuelta Femenina from Sunday 28 April until Sunday 5 May.

It will begin tomorrow with the TTT in Valencia. The race menu features three relatively flat stages that will end in Moncofa (stage 2), Teruel (stage 3) and Zaragoza (stage 4), offering opportunities for victory to the sprinters. A not-too-difficult stage, although one with an uphill finish, will end in Sigüenza (stage 7). The other three stages, however, will be an affair for the climbers.

Three mountaintop finishes, all of them previously featured in men’s La Vuelta, are set to define the overall standings. The first is the steep climb of Fuerte Rapitán (stage 5) on the outskirts of Jaca, followed by the ascent to Laguna Negra de Vinuesa (stage 6). The final decisive stage will take place next Sunday, 5 May, between Madrid's Distrito Telefónica and the winter sports complex of Valdesquí. The 12.8-kilometre final climb will be preceded by the 9.2-kilometre ascent to the Puerto de La Morcuera for a total of 1,870 metres of elevation gain in just 89.5 kilometres of the stage.
