UAE Development Team did much more than could have been expected at the Giro Mediterraneo in Rosa. Because while it is true that the team led by Davide Gani, Giuseppe Lanzoni, Aida Nuno Palacio was one of the favorite teams in this stage race, it is also true that no one could expect such a high level performance with four out of five stage wins.

In fact, UAE Development Team also won the last stage. Once again Federica Venturelli took first place by beating Romina Hinojosa and Fernanda Anabel Yapura in a sprint. In the final part of the race Lara Gillespie crashed, but she soon got up again and this did not prevent her from winning the general classification that she had already secured in the second stage, when thanks to a solo breakaway she had gained three minutes over her rivals.

The UAE Development Team domination was total, as Federica Venturelli also won the points classification and the best young rider classification. An absolute triumph that came thanks to the perfect symbiosis of individual talent and teamwork that Hannah Kunz, Federica Pellegrini, Federica Piergiovanni (eighth today) and Karolina Kumiega showed in all five stages.

This time the quality of teamwork was rewarded by winning the team classification: in fact, UAE Development Team was confirmed as the best team in Giro Mediterraneo in Rosa.
