The 2023 season starts with Training Camp in Italy

UAE Team ADQ is experiencing its training camp, ahead of the 2023 season. The training camp takes place in Tuscany, from December 9 to 15.

UAE Team ADQ, the UAE’s first professional Women’s cycling team, is experiencing its training camp, ahead of the 2023 season. The training camp takes place in Tuscany, Italy, from December 9 to 15. Sixteen riders, from nine nationalities, will represent the team during the new season.

The pre-season training camp is a reunion for the wider UAE Team ADQ members, including sports directors, coaches, mechanics, medical team, and support staff. For riders includes training session, technical preparations, baseline assessments for the riders, physiological and metabolic testing, nutritional screening, and medical screening. These measurements will contribute to the development of a bespoke training plan for every rider in the team. In terms of physical training, there is a focus on aerobic-based training and building body strength and endurance. 

As part of the UAE Team ADQ Social Impact program, three Emirati Female riders are invited to join the training camp to introduce them to the professional cycling industry with an immersion into professional training and share insights and experiences with the riders.

The team presented its new jersey created by new sponsor Pissei and the new Colnago V4Rs bike in black for the 2023 season.

The 2023 management team directed by General Manager Rubens Bertogliati, is renewed and strengthened. Strengthening also in the Performance Team directed by the new Spanish Sports Director and Coach Alejandro Gonzalez-Tablas. The other new faces among the Sports Directors and Coaches are Spanish Cristina San Emeterio, Italian Davide Arzeni, Swiss Marcello Albasini and French Nicolas Marche. Confirmed are the Italians Michele Devoti, and Giuseppe Lanzoni and Coaches Simone Casonato and Luca Zenti. A concentration of experience, skills, enthusiasm and diversity at the service of the team.

Melissa Moncada, Head of UAE Team ADQ, said: “During the 2023 season, UAE Team ADQ riders will be cycling during the Grands Tours and also in the main Classics races and we are also pleased to reveal our new cycling kit, along with the 2023 new Colnago Bike. Our training location reflects the terrain that our riders will be racing on, so we are excited they can have this rigorous program in preparation of the upcoming World Tour events”.
