Last weekend saw the end of the first UAE Team ADQ Bootcamp training. Ten days of work, team building, cycling, but also moments of sharing and discovery.

During 10 days in Abu Dhabi, the 15 riders of the first pro Women's World Tour (WWT) team from the United Arab Emirates had a lot of fun and unique experiences.

They cycled the Yas Marina Formula 1 Circuit and several other iconic place such as Al Hudayriyat Island, a unique island dedicated to cycling lovers only. On that track, they were joined by the UAE Team Emirates men's team and thousands passionate men and women cyclists from for a local community ride.

They attended a series of training activities, workshops, team building and sponsors events.

Moments of discovery and cultural immersion with a weekend in the desert at the Liwa Oasis and the Camel Ride to admire the sunrise and the wonderful natural scenery of the desert. Also particularly impressive was the visit to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, one of the most iconic buildings in the Middle East, where a cultural visit was organized to know better its story and History.

Not just cycling, then. Emotional moments and giving back to community were plan in the agenda.

Environmental awareness on the importance of Mangroves in UAE’s ecosystem and beyond. Starting with a kayak excursion in Abu Dhabi's Mangroves National Park, where each member of the team planted a mangrove tree. The plant is capable of conserving up to 10 times more carbon dioxide than typical terrestrial forests. Social commitment was also confirmed by the bike rides carried out together with the women of the community first, and with children and young people with disabilities (People of Determination).

Another, key moment was shared with UAE Team ADQ with the historic opening of the first ever Colnago flagship Concept store in the world, located in the Cycling Island of Hudayriyat Island in Abu Dhabi. This opening highlight the fast development of Cycling industry in UAE especially in Abu Dhabi Emirates.

UAE Team ADQ General Manager Rubens Bertogliati said: “We had also a fantastic cultural immersion in the country we represent with a unique opportunity to be all together, to bond and strengthen our group ahead of the new season, this experience is priceless!”.

An intense experience that will remain for a long time in the hearts of the 15 riders of UAE Team ADQ, representing 8 different nations, who are preparing for a new cycling season at the highest level to become heroines and a source of inspiration for many other women in the United Arab Emirates and throughout the world.
