The 31-year-old Italian climber Erica Magnaldi took an excellent third place at the GP Féminin de Chambéry today. This third place is the best result of the season for the Italian rider, an athlete of the UAE Team ADQ who today competed in France with the young girls of the UAE Development Team (ph. In fact, at the start of the GP Féminin de Chambéry in addition to Erica were New Zealand's Lola Bryson-Boe, Germany's Hannah Kuntz and Italians Emma Redaelli, Francesca Pellegrini, Federica Piergiovanni and Federica Venturelli.

Solo victory for Belgium's Lore de Schepper. On the last lap, Erica Magnaldi took an advantage on the climb together with Cédrine Kerbaol, Giada Borghesi and Ana Santesteban, but the four riders were caught up by the peloton. In the finale, Erica did very well to take third place behind Evita Muzic.

After the race, Erica Magnaldi said: “It was a very difficult race from the start. It was very hot today. I think it was the first really hot race day. The competition was nervous, we were a bit unlucky because we had some mechanical problems. So we spent a bit of energy at the beginning, but my teammates were amazing and helped me a lot. In the finale there were a lot of climbs and a lot of attacks. The rider in the breakaway went very strong, we were only a few seconds behind her, I have to say 'Chapeau' to her. I am quite satisfied with my performance because I managed to get on the podium. Of course, it would have been better to win, but to be on the podium is still nice”.
