UAE Team ADQ finished the training camp in Gandia

It was certainly a very intense and fruitful twelve days of work, crucial in building the future of UAE Team ADQ.

It was certainly a very intense and fruitful twelve days of work, crucial in building the future of UAE Team ADQ. The first UCI Women's WorldTour team from the United Arab Emirates concluded their training camp in Gandia, Spain, in the last few days, where they benefited from a milder climate and were able to refine their preparation for the imminent start of the 2023 season.

Training sessions, specific work, physical and medical tests, training meetings, tactical studies, media and sponsor meetings, and moments of discussion and even fun helped to lay the foundations for the team's activities. It was also a unique opportunity to fortify the group, which was very much renewed with the addition of numerous new members with a total of 16 riders representing 9 different nationalities.

UAE Team ADQ General Manager Rubens Bertogliati explains: "I saw the team very well. Riders and staff are all very motivated the physical tests were positive, with comforting data, so we start the new season with high hopes. This year, with this new roster, we will be competing on severals fronts with a main objective of winning as much as possible and improving ourselves in each race. 2023 is a new chapter for our team and the women's cycling industry”.  

Alejandro Gonzàlez-Tablas, Head of Performance adds: “It’s been a very productive training camp, lot’s of work has been done in many different areas. We have tried to implement a different approach to this camp and give some special attention to certain details that often get overlooked. The team leaves Gandia with lots of confidence with our current level but also aware that there is still a lot to be done as we expect a fierce level this year in all the races”.

Next weekend will ring the debut of UAE Team ADQ season with the first race of the year in Europe, the Women Cycling Pro Costa De Almería scheduled for 29th January in Spain.

Then, from 9th to 12th February the team is expected to take part in one of the most important events of the season, its home race, the first ever WorldTour Women’s race in Middle East, the first edition of UAE Women's Tour. And from 16th to 19th February again in Spain for the Setmana Ciclista-Volta Comunitat Valenciana Fèmines before the start of the classics period.
