Ronde Van Drenthe: snow and bad luck

March 11, 2023

Again today, luck was not on our side at Ronde van Drenthe, which was shortened to just 94 km after days of snow, wind and cold.

Again today, luck was not on our side. After the cancellation of the Gp Oetingen last Wednesday due to snow, today at the Ronde van Drenthe, which was shortened to just 94 km after days of snow, wind and cold, there was a lot of nervousness, crashes and difficult moments that didn't allow our riders to perform at their best in the final sprint.

A maxi crash after 32 km from the start put more than half the peloton out of the running. In the main group, Marta Bastianelli, Eleonora Gasparrini, Chiara Consonni and Eugenia Bujak remained in the mix.
The race was won in a sprint by European champion Lorena Wibes.
