A tough Gent-Wevelgem: 6th Marta Bastianelli

Today at Gent-Wevelgem it was 162.5 km of battle for our heroines, against bad weather, against their opponents and against bad luck.

Today at Gent-Wevelgem it was 162.5 kilometres of battle for our heroines, against bad weather, against their opponents and against bad luck and many crashes that penalised several of our riders.

An excellent performance by Eugenia Bujak, always in front, and in the end sixth place for Marta Bastianelli.

Five out of six riders in our team were involved in crashes. Particularly unlucky were Chiara Consonni and Marta Bastianelli, who crashed while in the top group and were then forced to chase to rejoin the group.

In the meantime, however, Marlen Reusser (SD Worx) had escaped all alone, becoming uncatchable. She won the race.

Another crash again stopped Bastianelli and Consonni with a few kilometres to go. Bujak remained in front. But her small group was caught with a few hundred metres to go and in the sprint Alena Amiliausik led Marta Bastianelli who finished in sixth position.

Let's turn today's bad luck into positive energy for the next races
