Abu Dhabi, the capital of our UAE and one of the most rapidly developing cities in the world, honorably hosted the first Forbes 30/50 Summit in the Middle East, the greatest annual global event for women, over the last decade.

From March 6-9 and coinciding with International Women’s Day, the location on Saadiyat Island saw women of all ages; entrepreneurs, leaders and game-changers, from more than 28 countries gather together from a multitude of different backgrounds and diverse cultures. These change-makers and visionaries participated in some key moments, and addressed topics such as change and gender equality. Chaired by Co-host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Mika Brzezinski.

The event brought together global leaders including former US Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton and honorees from Forbes’ 30 Under 30 and 50 Over 50 lists, with the mission of forming world-changing alliances. Speakers gathered to cover a dynamic range of topics; such as ‘breaking the bias’ and our very own UAE Team ADQ athlete, and the first Arab Woman in the UCI World Tour Cycling Level; Safiya Al Sayegh, discussed honouring your ‘passion over perfection’ in her talk; ‘Ride of a Lifetime’, an inspiration to others following their dreams. The event was hosted as one of the finest offering a range of activities for attendees including an outdoor ‘mindful moment’ soulful spinning class to reflect on the unity of women making change, and the weekend spanned from the UAE’s presidential palace to the Louvre Abu Dhabi, to an unforgettable closing event in the desert.
