We are pleased to announce that today we received the official confirmation from the International Cycling Union (UCI) that Safiya Alsayegh, UAE Team ADQ's Emirati rider, has earned the opportunity to participate in the upcoming 2022 UCI Road World Championships scheduled to take place in Wollongong, Australia, from 18th-25th September

This is a milestone not only for UAE Team ADQ and Safiya's cycling career but for the entire UAE country, which for the first time in history, will be present at a World Championship, the most important event of the cycling season.

Safiya Alsayegh, 20, is the first pro rider from the United Arab Emirates, and this year she joined the UAE Team ADQ, the first women's World Tour team in the Emirates. This year, the Dubai-born rider has already won both the national road and time trial titles and won a bronze medal in the Asian Under-23 Women's ITT at the Asian Championships. She combines her sporting activities with her university studies and is an inspiration to many women in her country.

These days that are bringing many successes to the UAE Team ADQ in Europe, comes this other good news that represents another essential step of growth and another goal achieved by this sports project that wants to leave a mark in the world of women's cycling and the history of sport in the United Arab Emirates.
